What the retainer buys
The management itself: sourcing and briefing the editors, writing the hooks, directing the edits, running the calendar, publishing, and reading the numbers back to you every month. That is the part you are actually hiring.
Why the shorts are $5
Because volume is what works, and volume dies if every extra short is a budget conversation. Keeping the unit cost low means you can post daily without flinching. A freelance editor would charge $40 to $80 for the same cut.
Rebuilds and trailers
Reconstruction work, full rebrands and standalone trailers sit outside both numbers. They are scoped and quoted up front, and nothing starts until you have agreed the figure.
Where the retainer lands
$150 covers a single server on a normal posting rhythm. It moves toward $200 when there is more to run: several platforms, heavier community handling, or a network rather than one server.
Nothing here locks you in
Every term here is written so the arrangement only continues while it is worth the money to you. That is deliberate.

Billing and scope
How does billing work?
One invoice a month: the management fee plus however many shorts were agreed for that month at $5 each. Change the volume for the next month whenever you like, or stop entirely. Reconstruction projects are quoted separately and split into a deposit and a completion payment.
Is there a contract or minimum term?
No minimum term. I work month to month because a retainer that has to be enforced by contract isn't working anyway. Larger network engagements can be put on a fixed term if you'd prefer the price locked.
What if I need more shorts than my plan includes?
They are added at the same $5 each. There are no tiers to move between, so a heavier month costs proportionally more on the shorts and the management fee stays where it is.
Do I need to record the footage myself?
Either way works. Most owners drop raw clips into a shared folder and the edits get built from there. If recording is the bottleneck, capture on your server can be arranged as an add-on.
What happens if I'm not happy with an edit?
Revisions are included in every plan and built into the delivery cycle rather than treated as an exception. If a batch genuinely misses the brief I recut it, and it isn't billed as a revision.
Do you work with small servers?
Yes. Management starts at $150 a month and you choose how many shorts sit on top, so you can start light and scale once it's working. The consultation costs nothing either way, so you can take the plan first and run it yourself if that suits you better.
Who owns the content you produce?
You do. Every file I deliver is yours to use however you like, including after the engagement ends. I only ask to reference the work in my own portfolio.
